Grr... I'm seriously annoyed with my life. I want to be friends with Ian, but I'm always telling people that if they can't be themselves around people to be friends w/ them, it's pointless to be friends with 'em! So is it pointless to be friends with Ian? He regards me .. oh .. kinda like I regard him because If I try to be nice to him Alex will never ever ever let me hear the end of it! *sigh*

girl, it sounds to me like you can't be yourself around him.. right now. maybe you could try putting any deeper friendship on hold, and try again in a couple of months. don't take it personally, it's probably more of a maturity thing for him. it's pretty rare for girls and boys to be good friends at his age.
on the bright side, you already have lots of friends you CAN be yourself around. and as long as you & ian don't become all-out enemies, you'll probably be real friends later on. that's my take. what do you think?
